Wall quotes for the nursery

For those of you who follow the blog, you know that I’m searching for inspiration for my daughters nursery (see here and here) in our new apartment.

My latest obsession is wall art for the nursery, and today I want to show you my favourite wall quotes for the nursery. All of the quotes I’ve picked out will be perfect for both a boy or a girl.

All of the quotes can be found on Etsy (I love it!), and most of them you can get as both a wall art and as a wall sticker. Some of them you can also get as a DIY – then you just print it yourself at a photo shop! Here are the quotes:

Advent calendar made with love

I Love Christmas! It’s my favourite holiday! There’s so much emotion tied up in all the Christmas traditions.

This year is special, since it’s my first Christmas as a mom! My daughter is still too young to understand anything, but it’s still very important for me that her experience is magical – it’s her very first Christmas, and she will never ever get a new first Christmas, so my husband and I am planning and thinking about what traditions we want to create for our family, and what traditions we’re continuing from our own childhood.

A tradition we’ve had in my very own little family (when it was still just my husband and I) is making home made advent calendars with a small gift every day. I love making this for my husband, and every year I try to do something different. Therefore, I’ve gathered a few ideas here – and I hope you get some inspiration too:

Now, I’m off to make my own advent calendar – anyone else making one?

Cute as a Button

My very own princess is already 8 months old! Time really do fly by so fast, and I just want her to stay little a while longer… But she’s too busy growing up, exploring the world and all that it offers. My little baby girl…

Oh well, I guess that’s a good thing. And, in just four short months, she’s turning ONE – and that needs to be celebrated – in style! For a planning freak, and entertaining junkie like myself, that almost means we’re late with the planning already!

Therefore, I’ve started browsing for inspiration for her first birthday party. My first WOW-find is this “Cute as a Button party” designed by Kiss me Kate, which would also work great as a baby shower. It’s just TOO CUTE:

Such lovely colours – and it works for both a boy and a girl with just minor adjustments!

So much detailing in the decorations!

Such a clever guest favor!

What do you think? Isn’t this a good alternative for a first birthday party?

Wedding Dress Wednesday

It’s been a while since last time I had the Wedding Dress Wednesday, but here it is again!

The last time I posted dresses from Spanish designer Pronovias. Today I’m continuing on the same path, and today I’ll show you my favourite dresses from Spanish San Patrick and La Sposa. Actually, it’s hard to choose favourites, since there’s just so many beautiful dresses, so here comes some of my many many favourites:

I Love the top of the San Patrick Alegria, it reminds me of a ballet costume with the lace “crawling” upwards

Here, you can se the same thing on the San Patrick Arizona

San Patrick Aspen is a totally different type of dress, but oh so beautiful. Even more soft and romantic!

Adore the skirt of the San Patrick Artigas

This is my favourite of the San Patrick dresses – lovely Grace Kelly-feeling over the dress – super elegant and feminine!

Same dress: San Patrick Andrea, just look at the details on the top!

Now, over to the La Sposa gowns:

Also here, you can se the exciting detailing on the top (La Sposa Montera)

The fit and flare of the La Sposa Minue is a favourite of mine. For me, who’s not very tall, a full ball gown would swallow me and make me look short, but the fit and flare gave me the full gown I wanted, but with a more slim silhouette

My favourite La Sposa: Monarca! Look at the wonderful skirt, it looks heavenly!!

Any brides out there looking for your wedding dress?

The Perfect Wedding Shoes

When I was getting married last year, I used an enormous amount of time searching for the perfect wedding shoes. I wanted them to be a pale dusty pink, because this was the colour we used as a theme colour for the wedding. Early on I saw these lovely shoes from Badgley Mischka, but unfortunately, they were impossible to get a hold of.

I finally found my wedding shoes, which was perfect – but it was a long search! How cute are we with our matching pink details???

Now however, I see there is an abundance of wedding shoes in the colour I was searching for – here are some of my favourites:

Sweet butterfly blings on these shoes from Aruna Seth

Badgley Mischka model Lissa

Here’s one with a bit more champagne colour – Janni from Badgley Mischka

And finally:

Manolo Blahnik’s model Hangisi in lovely pink!

Which colour shoes are you going to wear on your wedding day?

A warming wedding favor

There’s no denying it – Winter is coming! Outside, the weather is getting colder every day. But I love it! I love the changing of the seasons, because every season is beautiful in its own way!

And what’s better than utilizing the changing seasons as an inspiration for your wedding?

Today, I want to show you a sweet and (heart)warming DIY wedding favor I found here. I this this is perfect for both a late Fall wedding, and a Winter wedding:

You need:

  • The desired amount of 12″ Disposable Decorating Bags – remember you need two bags per favor
  • Chocolate powder (buy in bulk to get the best price)
  • Teeny, tiny hair ties, in the same amount as the amount of favors you’re going to make
  • Marshmallow bags
  • Twine
  • Favor tags (to use the one in the picture, go here, or make your own)

  1. Cut decorating bags around 6.5″
  2. Fill bag with 2 tablespoons (or whatever your chocolate powder suggests, or you feel is the right amount) with chocolate.
  3. Use the teeny, tiny hair tie to close off the chocolate. (You may need to cut the access bag after tying it off. In the picture, for example, it’s cut so there’s just about a 1/2 inch of bag showing after the hair tie.)
  4. Insert chocolate filled cone into another decorating bag; make sure seams line up.
  5. Scoop out a 1/4 cup of marshmallows (or your desired amount) and poor into decorating bag on top of the chocolate cone.
  6. Tie a piece of ribbon, yarn, or string above the marshmallows. You need to make this tight so the marshmallows don’t dry out. I tied it into two knots.
  7. After string is secure around bag, add your favor tag and tie it into a pretty bow.
  8. Repeat as many times as necessary.

And just as easy as that, you’ve made your own sweet and beautiful wedding favors for a very affordable price!
