Be my Valentine

It’s just a few weeks away – the day we each year celebrate with the one (or ones) we love! It can be a boyfriend, girlfriend, best friend, mother, father, sister or brother. No matter who it is, be with the ones you love for Valentine’s Day! And this year, we’ve got the added bonus of February 14th being on a Friday – yay!

As the party planning geek I am, I’ve already started gathering some inspiration that I this would look nice for a Valentine’s Day party. I’m picturing a party palette of red, pink and white. Pink softens the red, but red makes it more edgy than just a pink and white palette.

Here are two dessert tables which I really like:

Who can resist this little sweetheart??

I love the red and white striped background in the nect picture – I think it makes a strong and fresh statement! Together with the pink it just works even better!

Here’s another example of stripes in red and white. When this is paired with the more neutral combination of grey and white instead of pink, it’s very elegant.

And let’s not forget the important details:

Send your Valentine a card – I love this one, which also happens to be a free printables, which we love!

Make (or buy!) some sweet treats! Who doesn’t love these little sweeties?

We must not forget the hearts! I love everything chocolate, and if it comes in the shape of a heart, I’d probably love it even more – if possible!

Use hearts as decoration!

Perhaps a little Valentine’s gift?
Use heart decorations on the wrapping!

Snow Princess Birthday Party

My little princess in born in early Spring, so unfortunately this will not be the theme for her upcoming second birthday. However, I’m completely in love with the styling of this theme, which I saw at Hostess with the Mostess. The colour scheme of white, silver, grey, pink and hints of yellow is perfection,  and the details are just completely magical!

snow-princess-outfit-and-cupcakesSuch a sweet birthday girl!

Right now I’m searching for a theme to my daughters birthday in March – so looking forward to planning it! Do you have any suggestions for the theme??

What does the Fox say?

Oh yes, if you didn’t know before, you definitely know now! By now – the whole word knows what the fox say! If you’ve missed it (where have you been?) – you can see it here:

Of course, as a fellow Norwegian I almost feel a little bit proud of Ylvis for their success even though their song is not on my everyday playlist. However, there is no doubt that their success with the song has been enormous! When I went to New York last month, there was referrals to the song in tv shows, magazine articles, and – the list goes on!

The over-the-nigh success of Ylvis also has influenced the party trends, and I had to smile when I saw the following party from The Hostess with the Mostess some weeks ago! So funny!

Become a kitchen goddess

I´ve quite recently taken an interest in baking. I really love it! I’m not much for cooking – but luckily I’m married to a man with great cooking skills – I’m a lucky girl!

I like the baking because it makes me relax, I get to make yummy things for my family, and I can use my love for aesthetics. And speaking of aesthetics, of course every kitchen goddess need to look the part.

Therefore, today I’m going to show you some of my favorite aprons:

I wanted an apron in true Bree van de Kamp style:

And I found it:

This beautiful and oh so sweet apron is from Flirty Aprons – they have so many wonderful models, check it out!
They also have the sweetest aprons for kids – when my little girls is a bit older, she will get a true copy of my pink apron!

Also, I love this model – it’s sweet, fun and pretty! I see it as perfect for the times you have fancy dinners and have your dress on. If you need to wear an apron, what would be better than this one?

Green Gate, which I’ve already talked about several times, have such sweet nostalgic patterns:

And, look at this sweet model for your little princess:

I bet she would love to help you in the kitchen in this apron!

In Leilas General Store, you’ll also find great aprons for both you and your little one:

Love this vintage pattern!

I recently found Madame Choup, and I adore their products. They almost look like dresses! This on is my favorite:

The cupcake pattern was perfect!

I hope you feel inspired to find the kitchen goddess within!

Going to GreenGate

…at least in my mind!

If you still haven’t fallen in love with the Danish brand GreenGate, now is the time to do so! They make tableware and fabric accessories in the most deliciously sweet patterns and colours. Even though we’re just heading into Summer, and Winter is far from our thoughts, I would like to show some images from the GreenGate Winter catalogue that is out just now:

I think the grey, more neutral patterns is wonderful, and it goes great as a Winter pattern on your tableware. Here, you see the patterns Sophie, Star, Nanna and Dora together. And this is why I love GreenGate. They build up their patterns series, so that you can mix and match as you please – how cool is that?!

And here’s an example of some of their cute pastel series:

Also, this relatively new colour series with mauve colours is wonderful:

Makes me this about Fall!

I already have a Christmas china from GreenGate. Unfortunately, this is no longer available, I’m so glad I was able to get a hold of a whole set before it was discontinued; last year I called every store that had the brand, and went around buying bits and pieces to get the complete set! It was definately worth it! Can’t wait to use it this year for Christmas, in our new apartment!

Teacups and Tutus party

I earlier wrote a post about tea parties for adults, and this time I’m showing you the most adorable tea party for your little ones!

Oce again I’ve been inspired by The Hostess with the Mostess, and she featured a party made by The Pear – and it’s just every little girl’s dream come true!
