Guess how much I love you

The children´s book “Guess how much I love you” is a huge favourite of mine, and it was the first book that my mother bought for my daughter – the first book she ever got – while she was still in my belly. I remember feeling so emotional when I read it (still pregnant, and with my hormones all over the place), and I imagined how wonderful it would be to read it for my child.

If you´re not familiar with the book, you can read about it here.

On one of my inspirational tours around the internet, I found this adorable theme! It´s a “Guess how much I love you” party, and it´s just too cute!

It could work well as a baby shower theme as well – it´s also suitable if you don´t know the gender of the baby, since the colors are “gender neutral”. Also, it would make an adorable Easter party!

This pretty cake is simply stunning, and really pulls the party together!

Sweet cookies! In this particular party, it was for a little girl turning one, but I think it works just as good for a toddler, and also for a boy!

Wrapping the chocolate is a great effect – I think it would be the perfect guest favor!

Be my Valentine

It’s just a few weeks away – the day we each year celebrate with the one (or ones) we love! It can be a boyfriend, girlfriend, best friend, mother, father, sister or brother. No matter who it is, be with the ones you love for Valentine’s Day! And this year, we’ve got the added bonus of February 14th being on a Friday – yay!

As the party planning geek I am, I’ve already started gathering some inspiration that I this would look nice for a Valentine’s Day party. I’m picturing a party palette of red, pink and white. Pink softens the red, but red makes it more edgy than just a pink and white palette.

Here are two dessert tables which I really like:

Who can resist this little sweetheart??

I love the red and white striped background in the nect picture – I think it makes a strong and fresh statement! Together with the pink it just works even better!

Here’s another example of stripes in red and white. When this is paired with the more neutral combination of grey and white instead of pink, it’s very elegant.

And let’s not forget the important details:

Send your Valentine a card – I love this one, which also happens to be a free printables, which we love!

Make (or buy!) some sweet treats! Who doesn’t love these little sweeties?

We must not forget the hearts! I love everything chocolate, and if it comes in the shape of a heart, I’d probably love it even more – if possible!

What does the Fox say?

Oh yes, if you didn’t know before, you definitely know now! By now – the whole word knows what the fox say! If you’ve missed it (where have you been?) – you can see it here:

Of course, as a fellow Norwegian I almost feel a little bit proud of Ylvis for their success even though their song is not on my everyday playlist. However, there is no doubt that their success with the song has been enormous! When I went to New York last month, there was referrals to the song in tv shows, magazine articles, and – the list goes on!

The over-the-nigh success of Ylvis also has influenced the party trends, and I had to smile when I saw the following party from The Hostess with the Mostess some weeks ago! So funny!

Construction Party

I fell in love with this cooler-than-life party featured on Amy Atlas! Whether it’s for your little one or for Father’s Day (which is coming up soon – check out this post for more tips), it has to be every guy’s dream theme! No pastels, butteflies, glitter or tulle in sight! This is definately a macho theme for a party! I love it!

Tool cookies – what a great idea!

What are you planning for Father’s Day??

Midnight Masquerade

I sincerely apopgize for my poor blogging the last week!! And here’s the reason for it: I’m celebrating my 30th birthday (I’ve already turned 30, but hasn’t come around to celebrating before now) together with two of my friends. The theme is Midnight Masquerade, and the big celebration is – tomorrow! So you see – there has been a lot to organize the last couple of weeks!

Here’s some of my inspiration for the party – now I’m excited to see how it turns out!

Breakfast at Tiffany’s Birthday Party

My little princess is 10 months tomorrow! Where did the time go? I’m loving my days at home together with her, and in only one short month I’m going back to work. All day without my baby girl – how will that feel?It will be a new phase in out lives! My baby is growing up! She’s soon turning 1 year, and that must be celebrated. I’m still searching for the theme, and today I stumbled upon the most adorable theme for a little lady:

Breakfast at Tiffany’s! Just look at the wonderful styling – and the super cute birthday girl:)

….and her name is Audrey ( as in Audrey Hepburn) – so sweet!

Are there others out there planning a first birthday party? Have you picked your theme yet?

Cute as a Button

My very own princess is already 8 months old! Time really do fly by so fast, and I just want her to stay little a while longer… But she’s too busy growing up, exploring the world and all that it offers. My little baby girl…

Oh well, I guess that’s a good thing. And, in just four short months, she’s turning ONE – and that needs to be celebrated – in style! For a planning freak, and entertaining junkie like myself, that almost means we’re late with the planning already!

Therefore, I’ve started browsing for inspiration for her first birthday party. My first WOW-find is this “Cute as a Button party” designed by Kiss me Kate, which would also work great as a baby shower. It’s just TOO CUTE:

Such lovely colours – and it works for both a boy and a girl with just minor adjustments!

So much detailing in the decorations!

Such a clever guest favor!

What do you think? Isn’t this a good alternative for a first birthday party?
